Databit Solutions

AI IMPLEMENTATION FOR SMBS

Custom AI tools for companies that need them shipped, not strategized.

I build practical AI implementations for SMBs and growth-stage companies: the operational tools, integrations, and automations that are too specific for off-the-shelf software and too small for big consulting firms. 6 to 12 weeks. Fixed price. Working code at the end.

Free, no sales pressure. If it is not a fit, I will point you toward the right vendor or off-the-shelf tool.

Recent work.

Clinical LLM pipeline

Designed and delivered statistical analysis and machine learning systems for clinical decision-making. Built a private retrieval pipeline over a thousand pages of internal clinical guidelines, evaluated against the lead clinician's own questions before launch. Hosted in their environment, never leaves the network.

Databit Solutions excelled at turning ambiguous objectives into a clear, actionable plan. For statistical analysis and machine learning, Databit Solutions will be my first call.
Dr. Rahul Rosha, Novique Health

Clinic operations dashboard

Built a unified dashboard for a multi-location physical medicine clinic, connecting QuickBooks, scheduling, and operational data. Replaced 6 hours of weekly manual reporting with a daily executive view their leadership uses every morning.

Working with Databit was like hitting the jackpot! They took our ideas and turned them into a sleek and powerful workflow that we love.
Dr. Topher Stephenson, Rincon

Pediatric epilepsy genetic-disorder analytics

Built clinical analytics for a precision-medicine biotech focused on rare pediatric epilepsies. Statistical pipelines on SCN2A and SYNGAP cohorts, longitudinal seizure-frequency models, and presentation-ready outputs the clinical team uses in development decisions.

Clinical research database

Migrated a 3,473-patient TBI cohort from spreadsheets and PDFs into a Postgres + Snowflake research platform for the Zusman Research group at PRISM. The clinical team runs their own analyses on it weekly, no engineer in the loop. Two manuscripts in progress on data this platform surfaced.

Operational analytics for SMBs

Built custom analytics infrastructure for an agricultural business, turning fragmented operational data (almond and rice supply, charter logistics, yield) into clear, actionable insights that leadership uses for daily decision-making.

Databit delivers highly sophisticated analytics, yet communicates findings in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
Jared Gross, Grobiero Farms

Vacation-rental analytics platform

Multi-component data product for a vacation-rental analytics SaaS: occupancy-rate ML, competitor similarity scoring, listing-revenue estimation, and market-insight scrapers. Several internal APIs running in production, used by the platform's hosts to price and position their listings.

How an engagement runs.

01

Discovery (Week 1)

A 30-minute intro call, then a paid discovery week if there is a fit. I map your problem, your data, your existing tools, and your constraints. You get a written scope, fixed price, and timeline at the end of week 1.

02

Build (Weeks 2 to 10)

I build, you review weekly. Every Friday you see working software, not slides. Scope changes get re-quoted in writing. No surprises, no scope creep, no budget blowouts.

03

Handoff (Final week)

Documentation, training, and source code transfer. Your team owns everything I build. I provide 30 days of post-handoff support to make sure the system runs without me.

Best fit if...

This is for you if

  • You have a specific operational problem you think AI could solve
  • You want a working tool, not a strategy deck
  • You would rather work directly with the person building it than manage a junior consultant
  • You have budget authority and can move quickly
  • Your company is between 10 and 200 employees

This is not for you if

  • You want a 6-month "AI transformation" engagement
  • You are shopping for the lowest-cost vendor
  • You want me to manage a team of subcontractors
  • You need 24/7 production pager coverage or break-fix managed services (I take advisory retainers, not on-call rotations)
  • You have not identified a specific problem yet (try a strategy consultancy first)

How engagements work.

Fixed scope, fixed price

I agree on what gets built and what it costs before any work starts. No hourly billing, no scope creep, no surprise invoices.

Working software every Friday

You see real progress weekly, not slides or status reports. Scope changes get re-quoted in writing if anything shifts.

Full handoff at the end

Source code, documentation, and team training. Your team owns the system. 30 days of post-handoff support included.

Who I am.

Stijn Servaes, founder of Databit Solutions

I am Stijn, founder of Databit Solutions. I build AI tools, data systems, and operational software for SMBs across healthcare, agriculture, education, and professional services. I also lead applied AI safety research at AE Studio: mechanistic interpretability, gradient routing, deception detection, and evaluations of LLM subjective experience. I work with founders, operators, and clinical leadership directly. Every line of code, every integration, every decision goes through me.

Common questions.

  • How is this different from a big consulting firm?

I am one person. I build the thing. I work directly with you, not through account managers. The trade-off: I cannot take on unlimited scope, and I will not take on engagements where I am not the right fit. The benefit: faster decisions, better code, lower cost, and someone who actually understands what got shipped after it ships.

  • Do you take on retainers or ongoing work?

Yes, when it is the right fit. Project work is the default (well-scoped, fixed price, clear ending), but I also take on Fractional AI CTO retainers for teams that need a senior technical partner in the room week to week: architecture decisions, vendor evaluations, hiring calls, and the "are we doing this right?" questions. Monthly cadence, capped hours. Many clients move to a light advisory retainer after a project ships.

  • What kind of AI work specifically?

The boring kind that ships and gets used. LLM integrations into existing systems. Custom agents and automations. ML and statistical models for specific operational problems. Data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. I avoid hype-driven work and projects where AI is not actually the right tool.

  • What if my problem does not need AI?

I will tell you. Plenty of "AI projects" turn out to be better solved with a script, a SQL query, or off-the-shelf software. A 30-minute call costs you nothing and you will leave with a clearer picture either way.

  • Are you available right now?

Usually I have a 4 to 8 week lead time before a new engagement starts. The discovery call is the first step: book it and I will share timing on the call.

  • Can you work under NDA, HIPAA, or specific compliance requirements?

Yes to NDAs (signed before any sensitive details are shared). For HIPAA work I sign BAAs and follow standard PHI handling practices. For other compliance regimes (SOC 2, GDPR, etc.) I will discuss requirements during discovery.

Want to see if this fits?

30-minute call. I will ask about your problem, your tools, and your constraints. If there is a fit, you will get a written scope within 48 hours. If not, I will point you somewhere better.
